Bacalar and la laguna des los siete colores (The Seven Colors Lagoon) – one of my favorite places in Mexico. In no other place can you better dangle your soul, rinse the dirt off your feet and stay in the bathtub-warm water for a long time water until you look like a frog.
If you come here, you should definitely look for an accommodation close to the lagoon. Waking up in the morning with a view on the lake and jumping directly into the water is simply the absolute fantastic thing. The hostel and at the same time campsite Magic Bacalar is centrally located, also to the city center it is not far.
In February is also the annual carnival, without knowing we have found us in the otherwise very quiet place to swing the dance leg in the evening. Here everyone dances with everyone and the best thing is to shake your hip as a not so rhythmically talented German permanent – then it will almost looks like a professional 🙂
In addition to the peaceful center, which is also full of beautiful street art everywhere, a visit to the blue cenote is worth a visit. Those who find the “back entrance” of the locals, also will save the entrance.
With the canoe on your own or with a catamaran tour you can visit the following attractions within the lagoon:
- The black cenote
- Canal of the pirates
- Laguna Mariscal
